Oh dear Jean, please be very careful with the snake - he hates being disturbed during the hibernation season, and is quite likely to do you a mischief.

You can see the tray when we get together for your unveiling. By the way, the illumination you "borrowed" from Blackpool - you didn`t tell us it had the Tower ballroom wurlitzer attached, I had to find that out from the BBC.

You are right to keep the mulled wine out of reach of Eleanor and Lynn - all the more for the rest of us. For goodness sake, don`t let Lynn pack any scissors either.

Did Doreen tell you she has a new ski-outfit? She dropped a hint that she has dancing penguins on it - bit old-fashioned I thought.

No WONDER I needed a crane to hoist up the ski lift! I have to admit I did wonder what had got caught in my wellies-it's amazing they didn't rip. Wow, a mention on the BBC? Now there's fame.

I'm a bit miffed that Jenni has got THREE feather boas. I couldn't find any in the shops and now we all know why. Some people are just plain greedy!

I think we should have a little pre-Christmas party over the weekend. Any suggestions as to where?

Kathleen, I'll have you know my ski outfit is the very latest in high fashion!RollEyes

I agree we should have a pre christmas party. How about Stringfellows? Or Blackpool, we always seem to have a good time there.
Perhaps I should look after the mulled wine though, after what happened the last time you "looked after" it Jean.

OOOH!! Did someone mention a party? Sounds good to me and I have my multi patterned various coloured scissors at the ready. Any one need a party hair cut? Eleanor always likes to keep up with the fashion and she would be only too happy (or did she say snappy ... hmm, no matter!) to recommend meThumpUp Perhaps the snake could do with a quick trim!

When they said there was over one million pounds worth of damage to the illuminations I didn't realise you were the culprit Jean!! LOL And as for the wurlitzer, the mind boggles!

Brilliant to see you back again Jean

Penguins! Doreen, I am most upset. We have enough with that darned snake never mind penguins! LOL Jenni, keep the red boots: you may need them for future problems. RollEyes Jean, I am sure that my friend Lyn and I are most offended at the suggestion that we drank all of the medicinal fluids that you all provided. If memory serves me well (and I am sure that Lyn will agree) Amanda, Barbara Mary, Kathleen and (especially) Doreen had the lions share! Poor Julie had none as she climbed up that church steeple and got caught on thon weather vane. LOL LOL

Lyn dear, no offence, but the word was not happy and snappy was the way I felt after the hair cut. However, the hat I had to wear when it was growing out is now high fashion so I will be wearing it with my 'costume' from TK Max no less on our night out. ThumpUp Smile

Dear Jean, it is so nice to see your post. It cheered me up no end. BigGrin Just a word of warning, no bathing in the fountains this weekend as I would like a sophisticated night out for a change. I could not endure another night in the London Dungeons!

I must admit it is a bit cold for the Trafalgar Square fountains at the moment. Bits of us may get caught in the big freeze and that would never do! How about Blackpool then? We could return the Wurlitzer whilst we are there? Lyn is banned from bringing the scissors - we can't bear to see Eleanor looking like THAT again - it quite put us off our lager and whelks last time. As for Doreen's costume - hmm...I am reserving judgement (but knowing her, it will be VERY chav) Think Cheryl Cole and Widdi and you've got it!

Oh Eleanor, I truly hope we can keep Lyn away from you with her scissors - it took your poor hair so long to grow back last time.

So it`s to be Blackpool then? Will they let Jean back? It`s going to be a bit difficult to smuggle the wurlitzer back to the Tower. Do you think Prince William will still be there? Julie will be desperate to ride the Big Dipper if he is - you know how she akways like to be up on high whenever there`s a tree or a lamp-post about.

Those coloured long-johns of Widdy`s are great - I`m having some multi-coloured ones with tassels round the ankles. Is Jenni wearing ALL her feather boas?

See you all on the Golden Mile, Saturday 7 30 pm sharp. Don`t be late.

I've been giving this a great deal of thought and am wondering, as the festive season is almost upon us, whether we should charter a flight to Lapland. I have always wanted to meet the REAL santa. I say "charter" a flight, as I am quite sure no-one would let us onto a scheduled flight again. The memory of Eleanor, in her Minnie-ha ha costume over a pair of thermal long johns, being escorted off the plane singing "When I'm calling you..ooo..oooo" to a bottle of brown ale, is forever etched in my memory. There will have to be one or two rules:

1. Suzanne, Lorna and Ailsa must promise not to invite the band of the Coldstream Guards again. We had such a kerfuffle with all those busby's last time and I certainly don't want to spend another two hours pulling Suzanne out of that poor man's tuba.

2. Lyn must be frisked for scissors prior to entering the plane. We simply cannot risk letting her getting too close to Santa when she has a pair secreted about her person - and heaven alone knows what she would do to the Elves' pom-poms. It doesn't bear thinking about.

3. Julie must be strapped into a safety harness at all times when on board the plane. She has no-where to climb inside the plane and we don't want to risk another wing-walking episode. The poor pilot is still on light duties and is swallowing handfuls of valium daily.

4. The wooden whacker must be taken off Jenni-she caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to Stringfellows and the ensuing court-case caused us all a lot of grief. I'm also very concerned that the three feather boas will get caught up in Kathleen's snake and it will turn very nasty.

5. We need to take a blanket or tarpaulin to chuck over Doreen - I have a feeling that the outfit will be very distasteful indeed.

Please feel free to add to this list.

6. Jean we can Pole Dance from North to South with all the poles in between. LOL I too have 2 feather boas, a red one and a black and silver, you are welcome to borrow one of these. Will go lovely with my stripey wellies, How about Sled dog sledging would be cool but you would have to leave the tassels behind for obvious reasons Blink. Re think the Busby's they would keep our heads warm........Razz

7. Lapland sounds wonderful, I will sit on Santa's knee RollEyes and sing :

Santa Baby stick a sable under the tree for me,
I've been an awful good girl, Santa Baby,
So hurry down the chimney tonight. LOL LOL

I agree with all the rules except number 5.

I have never, ever, worn a distasteful outfitRollEyes and the one I will wear to Lapland is very tasteful indeed, you will be surprised.Cool

I think we should stick to the original plan of partying on the Golden Mile tomorrow night and then have a trip to Lapland afterwards.ThumpUp

We could use the Blackpool trip as a sort of "practice run" for Lapland - there are some posters here who haven`t been on a trip with us before, and we want to make sure they enjoy themselves.

Doreen`s outfit? Tasteful?

Rule 8 : Someone sensible should be in charge of Eleanor`s special "cake." She simply can`t be trusted. As I am sensible, I`ll look after it.

Lornas`s idea about the Busby`s is a good one - they will keep us nice and warm, and it`s a bit chilly for those nettle leaves of Amanda`s at this time of year.

Rule 9 : Someone ought to have the number of the local Fire Brigade - you know what happened last time in Blackpool.................

Right - Golden Mile it is then. In case you have forgotten, Kathleen, Julie M has the Blackpool Fire Station number tatooed on her left....arm! You're right about the Busby's Lorna. They WILL keep us warm - especially if they have a Coldstream Guard inside them as well!

I have decided to wear the gold lame rubber diving suit as we just don't know how cold it will be and if Jenni shoves me off the pier again, I could suffer nasty and lasting damage without it. I shall remove the goggles when we visit The Ladyboys and Fru Fru's.

I have to say I don' think we should have invited Lorna along, but please keep this to yourselves. Her striped wellies sound amazing and even her offer to lend me a feather boa doesn't stop the jealousy.

Can't wait to see Doreen's tacky outfit - all baubles, candles and bells LOL LOL LOL

hi all,

i'll have you know i am in stitches reading this .. lol LOL

Jean i would sooner be pulled out of a Tuba wearing a Busby than wear bright yellow Anne Widders Long Johns ... no contest !!

and a stroll down the Golden Mile tomorrow night at minus 4 degrees and then onto Lapland sounds wonderful to me,

as long as Lyn doesn't bring along her brightly coloured scissor's as i am very protective of my well coiffured hair-do.

10. the one thing i feel is suitable for the Golden Mile is sparkly spangly dresses with gold high heeled shoes accompanied by said feather boa's which would be totally tasteful and not OTT linking arms and singing 76 trombones la la la la la

polishing my Tiara to sit on my fringe on top as i type .. lol RollEyes

Thank heaven's it's not London. I am never going near trafalgar square again when there's a tree up.....

I'm so glad that Doreen's outfit has received so many comments after she commented on mine on FB. I have a lovely new black number with orange and yellow silk attached to it. When the wind blows up my frock - it looks like I'm on fire. Doreen has implied that this might not be as tasteful as you ladies normally dress (lol). I think she is just jealous because she knows I will attract more firemen.

What beverages are we taking along this time ladies? Do we need the supermarket trolley again? I've got some Cherry B's and Babyshams I found under the stairs when I was clearing out so I'll bring them.

Lovely to see you back Jean ThumpUp

Definitely need the supermarket trolley Julie and as many babyshams and cherry b's as you can stuff in it. Eleanor and Suzanne are busily home brewing as I type and will be bottling up in the morning (providing they are still sober - not a hope!!) Oh yes - as Kathleen says - FOR GOODNESS SAKE KEEP ELEANOR AWAY FROM JULIE'S "SEED" CAKE. As no-one can be trusted with it, we'd better drag it along behind us in a tin, so that we can all keep an eye on it.

Are we eating at our fav seafront kiosk again, or may they decide they don't want to serve us after last time? If not, any bright ideas? Do we need the wheeled commode and if so, shall I decorate it with fairy lights and stick a star on top? If I DO bring it though, we mustn't take it on "The Big One" again.

Really looking forward to our first get-together for a while. Seeya all tomorrow! Probably won't sleep tonight with all the excitement.

I was going to ask if you have got the wheeled commode decked out for the event Jean.

Just make sure Jenni doesn't hog it all night again.

It will be great to get the gold stilletos out , I've got some 8 inch ones that I haven't worn yet.
We'll just have to see about Julie's outfit, sounds a bit tarty to me.RollEyes

I'm off to make a start on the polyfilla now.

Jean please don't be jealous about the stripey wellies, I have........... 3 pairs, 2 of which are my daughters, so there are plenty to share around. What about the sled dog races, are you up for that.

Good idea about the firemen and coldstream guards to keep us warm.............. LOL LOL

The wheeled commode with the 'go faster' stripes is always handy Jean. As for the eaterie, I don't see that they shouldn't serve us. When I told them I had been bent double with botulism because of their whelks it was true. Getting the supermarket trolley's wonkey wheel oiled as we speak (spraying WD40 on my knees while I'm at it). Doreen's keeping her outifit under wraps isn't she. I wonder what she's up to.....................

By the way Lyn, it's lovely to see you posting too. Hope you are feeling better and the night out is right on your doorstep so you have no excuse for not coming.

Three miles away, I'll be there early doors to get organised! I know the local fire brigade so no problem there! Love Love Love Love

Julie, do you fancy a leg up the tower? Climbing is far more rewarding than using the conventional lift RollEyes You get lovely views when the air is cold, right up over the Cumbrian fells, out to the Isle of Man, down to the North Wales coastline and Anglesey and way, way over the Pennines to Yorkshire!! Good at geography as well as hair trimming!!!! You'd better not wear your nice dress though, the long johns might be better, it's a mite chilly up top!!

You lot would really let the side down without my hairdressing skills and I've had plenty of practice with my new set! so no pushing, take your turn and I will be with you shortly!

Hey Lorna I'd like to go for a ride with the sled dogs, that sounds really cool. Do they go fast? Hands aren't too good for hanging on so will have to be strapped in! Scared

What to wear? What to wear? She madly searches through wardrobe .... here we are spot on..... oooohhhhCool
